Former German Chancellor Angela Merkel believes that Russian leader Vladimir Putin has a negative attitude to the collapse of the Soviet Union and dreams of turning modern Russia into a great power.
The Independent said.
‘He wanted to turn Russia into a great power again. After all, he has always been like that,’ Merkel said.
The German politician also added that Putin ‘brought Russians out of chaos.’
Earlier, Merkel said that the presence of a dog at the German politician’s meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin was a ‘show of force.’ The Russian leader recently noted that he was unaware of Merkel’s fear of dogs.
