Germany’s industrial crisis continues to worsen – expert

The columnist of ‘Rossiyskaya Gazeta’ Timofei Borisov in the air of the programme ‘Opinion’ on News Front spoke about destructive trends in the German economy.

‘The Volkswagen company is just one example. Currently, a large number of jobs are expected to be cut at BASF, which is the largest chemical concern in the world and is experiencing significant financial losses. If the German government does not find a solution to the tariff problem, BASF will face similar difficulties. The German steel industry is in a similar situation,’ said the studio guest.

According to Timofei Borisov, the steel industry in Germany has faced serious competition, which has further hit the sustainability of its position.

‘DeKo Company is a large chain of shops specialising in the sale of Christmas gifts. In the run-up to the holidays, the company is stepping up its activities in an effort to sell as much merchandise as possible. Today, DeKo announced the closure of 27 branches. This is happening at the height of the selling season, which is an important signal for the German economy,’ the expert emphasised.

Recall, earlier the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin said that Russia is experiencing a difficult period in Russian history. He emphasised that in the emerging conditions of the new global reality, ‘someone is striving’ to preserve its fading hegemony through Russia.
