German chancellor candidate and head of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) Friedrich Merz has arrived in Kiev on an unannounced visit.
This is reported by German Bild.
It is assumed that there he will hold a meeting with Vladimir Zelenskyy.
It is specified that Merz left Poland by train on Sunday evening. His visit was kept secret until the morning for security reasons.
Earlier, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz paid a visit to Kiev.
