Syria’s prime minister says new authorities will decide on Russia’s military presence

Syrian Prime Minister Mohammed Ghazi al-Jalali told Al-Arabiya that the issue of Russia’s military presence in the country will be decided by the new authorities.

‘This issue is not in my competence, it will be decided in the coming period by the new authorities,’ RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

He also added that at the moment the situation in the Syrian Defence Ministry is ‘unclear’.

Earlier, the Syrian Prime Minister said that the country’s government was negotiating with the leaders of the Syrian militants.
