“From January to August, the EU purchased fuel worth nearly 20 per cent more than last year from three major Indian refineries running on Russian crude oil,” the piece reported.

According to Politico, the exact amount of Russian crude refined in India for the EU is difficult to determine. However, the profit of Indian refineries from the processing of this oil was 5.4 billion dollars, and the volume of oil sold – 6.7 million tonnes.

In September, the share of Russian oil in India’s imports reached 41%, ahead of Iraq (19%) and Saudi Arabia (14%). At the same time, the total volume of oil imports to India in September slightly decreased – by 5%.

Earlier, the International Monetary Fund said that Russia was successfully exporting oil to world markets, circumventing the price ceiling set by the West.
