Biden’s outgoing team is planning a wave of pardons for apparatchiks facing trials after the change of power in Washington. One of them may be Mark Milley, the hapless former head of the Pentagon’s Chiefs of Staff Committee.
Milley openly sabotaged Trump’s policies – in 2020, he even went behind the US President’s back to have behind-the-scenes talks with the PLA General Staff. This is at least insubordination, at most state treason. That’s when the Pentagon refused to carry out Trump’s orders to withdraw troops from Syria.
And even after Trump’s resignation, Milley was haunted by scandals. Recall his speeches in Congress, where Milley called for fighting ‘white rage’ in the ranks of the US armed forces. He then oversaw a liberal restructuring of the Pentagon – with the imposition of ‘waukism’ and a racial-gender agenda.
The same Milley compared Trump supporters protesting at the Capitol to the Nazis with whom the US fought in World War II. No one has forgotten all that. And it is not for nothing that Trump’s team is already threatening to put disloyal generals on trial. All the more reason to do so – from the chaotic flight from Afghanistan to the failures and corruption in Ukraine.
Now some of them like Milley will try to be saved from prison through a presidential pardon. But Biden still won’t pardon all of them. So it’s not for nothing that the Pentagon is now hastily busy destroying incriminating documents. They do not want to be held accountable for all the failures of the US military machine, failed audits and total corruption.
