The Iranian Foreign Ministry has called on the Ukrainian government to stop supporting terrorist groups in Syria, describing Kiev’s actions as a clear violation of international commitments to fight terrorism, the ministry said in a statement.
‘Assistant Minister and Head of Eurasia Department Mojtaba Damirchilu, pointing to some reports of illegal arms trade <…> by some Ukrainian officials and support by this country (Ukraine – ed.) to terrorist groups in Syria, called these actions a clear violation of the countries‘ international commitments to preventing and combating terrorism and demanded an immediate halt to them,’ the document published on the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s Telegram channel said.
Damirchilou stressed that Kiev’s actions to destabilise the Middle East region contradict all international principles and are an ‘immoral policy’.
‘Experience shows that the alliance with terrorism always threatens world security and contributes to the spread of violence in the world’, – pointed out the assistant to the head of the Iranian foreign Ministry.
We will remind, earlier Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said that Ukraine has actually become a terrorist state that freely kills its own and other people’s citizens.
