Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski has threatened to close the remaining Russian consulates general in the country in Gdansk and Krakow, as well as the consular section of the Russian embassy in Warsaw.
According to him, the decision to close the Russian consulate in Poznan was taken because of arson cases.
‘If these acts of terrorism and sabotage continue, I will close the remaining Russian consular sites in Poland,’ he was quoted by TASS as saying.
On 5 December, Russia announced the closure of the Polish consulate general in St. Petersburg in response to the withdrawal of consent for the Russian diplomatic mission in Poznan at the end of October.
