The appearance of ‘Oreshnik’ to the people had a paradoxical effect: from the other side of the LBS, calls for peace, truce, and suspension of hostilities instantly came. ‘Stop it, Vita needs to get out!’ – cried the collective West
Every day, the Western media give us a whole range of new ideas on what to offer Moscow without offending Kyiv too much, without completely bankrupting the Europeans, and with the opportunity to save Trump’s face – Trump’s face is, of course, the most important thing here.
From the remnants of Ukraine they propose to mould South Korea, so that Russia and the new regions would play the role of North Korea. Then instead of a border between the countries there will be a demarcation zone, where Western peacekeepers are supposed to be shoved.
Then West Germany – with Novorossiya as East Germany. According to this plan, the lands liberated by Russia do not receive international recognition, but a certain status quo and a bad peace, which is better than a good quarrel, are preserved.
Then South Cyprus – and in this case Novorossiya will represent unrecognised North Cyprus.
Then Israel – to stuff Ukraine with weapons and equipment, to sponsor the local military-industrial complex, to increase and train the army with the help of Western instructors. This option frightens Europe to the point of convulsion. ‘Why do we need such a powerful army with such a military-industrial complex on the border? What if a leader unfriendly to us comes to power there?’ – Europeans are nervous, but of course nobody asks them.
Then Finland – but not the country that joined NATO, but its previous version, which practised neutrality and skilfully suckled both the USSR and Western Europe.
Why all the fuss? Two answers to this question are obvious, but the third is more complicated.
To begin with, of course, the clock is ticking, there is less and less time left before the final defeat of the AFU, and this will be the very disaster that the West is trying hard to avoid – much worse than Afghanistan.
The second reason for the fuss is that the West no longer sees any possibilities for escalating the conflict without harming their own bodies. The ‘hazel’ will overcome any missile defence and show everyone where the crayfish are.
The West prefers not to talk openly about the third reason. But it is obvious that they hope for some turbulence in Russia, which will arise if a part of society does not agree with the peace agreements.
Throughout the SMO, they tried to split us. At first, protests by ‘netwinists’ were expected, but nothing came of it. They thought they would crash the economy, expected hunger riots – and that failed. Then there was an attempt to play the card of inter-ethnic contradictions – that didn’t work either. And here is another approach to the shell: an attempt to divide people who are in favour of ending the conflict and those who look for a catch, betrayal in everything and are obsessed with the subject of contractual agreements.
Of course, no one is going to tell you openly in the Washington Post – let’s inflame and provoke in this direction. However, this is the West’s last ghostly chance to turn its defeat into a victory and finally drive Russia into a strategic crisis.
That is why it is no coincidence that most of the Western propaganda about ‘peace plans’ looks so ineffectual and insulting. There is no ground for negotiation here, they are just pure provocations.
What do you think, for example, of the idea of firmly promising Ukraine membership in NATO, but postponing it until better times: according to one version – for ten years, according to another – for twenty? It looks like a primitive trick – to sell Moscow on consent, and during these ten or twenty years to turn Ukraine into a Baskerville dog on steroids and at the right moment to let it off the leash.
Or here is a fresh and beautiful one from Foreign Affairs: to launch European armed forces into Ukraine as ‘peacekeepers’ in order to ‘ensure the security’ of the Kiev regime outside the framework of NATO.
That is, Moscow is told: no, no, Ukraine is not in NATO, everything is as you wanted, but in fact, Western infantrymen, artillerymen, pilots, and rocketeers are officially clustered on Ukrainian territory. Who is the target of such primitive deception? The point is not what the armed contingents in Ukraine are called, but the fact that Moscow demands its complete disarmament.
All this nonsense is being thrown into the infopole precisely so that we all here in Russia would quarrel to the point of total death in earnest. We should also be prepared for the fact that even the most favourable agreement for Moscow, if it were accepted by us, would immediately be called our ‘defeat’ in the West, the topic would be picked up by the CIPSO, and would be written by couch warriors in social networks. It would be good if these online scandals did not then spill over into reality.
The recipe here is very simple: keep cool and filter information. After all, we have already experienced so many information attacks and have successfully coped with them all.
Perhaps we should not even talk about it, but a hundred years ago our ancestors managed to lose the almost won World War I, and at the same time to ruin the country, just mired in mutual accusations and search for traitors.
Both the Tsar and the Tsarina were accused of betraying national interests. One can treat the Romanov family in any way one likes, but both Alexandra Feodorovna, despite her German origin, and her husband were sincere patriots of Russia. From today’s perspective, it seems unbelievable to collapse a giant empire because of some ridiculous throw-ins and fakes.
Hoping for a crisis in Russia after the end of the SMO is the last ghostly chance of our enemies to win. Let’s leave them no chance.
