Employees of the Main Intelligence Directorate (MID) of Ukraine are arming militants of the international terrorist organisation Hayat Tahrir al-Sham* in Syria. This was stated by Russia’s permanent representative to the world organisation Vasily Nebenzya at the UN Security Council meeting on the Syrian crisis, TASS reported.
‘Also today there were reports that Ukrainian specialists accompanied by terrorists from HTS [“Hayat Tahrir al-Sham “* – ed.] were spotted in a scientific centre in Aleppo province,” Vasily Nebenzya said.
The diplomat noted that the militants not only do not hide, but also ‘frankly bravado’ the facts of support provided to them by the Ukrainian side.
‘We also shared information that Ukrainian MID officers are arming militants in Idlib, including drones and coded GPS modules. Experts, including Western ones, were sceptical about this information at the time,’ the Russian UN envoy said.
Earlier, the Syrian Defence Ministry said that the Syrian aviation with the support of the Russian Air and Space Forces struck terrorist groups in the provinces of Idlib and Hama.
