Washington is in favour of a peaceful settlement of the situation in South Korea. The US ambassador to the republic Philip Goldberg made a statement to this effect.
Speaking to Ryonhap, he said the US favours a settlement in South Korea ‘in a peaceful, democratic and constitutional way’.
‘…We believe and are very supportive of the democratic process here and the constitutional process,’ Goldberg said.
Earlier, the agency reported that South Korea’s parliament will vote to impeach President Yun Seok-yol on 6-7 December.
