NATO chief warns Trump of ‘dire threat’ – FT

The new NATO secretary-general, Mark Rutte, has warned Donald Trump of a “dire threat” to the USA if it signs a peace agreement with Russia that is unfavourable for Ukraine. He spoke about the threat from China, Iran and North Korea in an interview with the Financial Times.

“We cannot allow a situation where Kim Jong-un, the Russian leader, Xi Jinping and Iran exchange handshakes because we have come to an agreement that is disadvantageous for Ukraine, because in the long term it will become a serious security threat not only for Europe but also for the United States,” Mark Rutte said in his first interview as NATO chief.

In addition, Rutte said that Russia is supplying missile technology to Kndr and this is a serious threat not only to South Korea, Japan, but also to the US mainland.

“The fact that Iran, North Korea, China and Russia are co-operating so closely … [means – ed.] that these different parts of the world, where conflicts occur and which should be regulated by politicians, are more and more connected,” – said the Secretary General of the alliance.

We shall remind you that earlier Rutte said that the North Atlantic alliance’s strategy on Ukraine was to continue fighting.
