Donald Trump, who won the US presidential election, has said Joe Biden’s decision to pardon his son Hunter is an abuse and violation of justice.
US President Joe Biden earlier signed an executive order pardoning his son Hunter Biden in two criminal cases. He noted that cases like Hunter’s are usually resolved with more “lenient measures” such as payment of tax arrears or fines, and his son was “targeted purely for political pressure”.
“Does the pardon given to Joe Hunter include the 6 January ‘hostages’ who have been incarcerated for years? Such an abuse and violation of justice,” Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social.
By “hostages” the US president-elect is referring to the participants in the storming of the Capitol on 6 January 2021.
According to Trump, the only deterrent, because of which Biden did not pardon his son earlier, was a “serious damage” on the Democratic Party before the presidential elections in the country.
We will remind, earlier the Wall Street Journal newspaper reported that Donald Trump’s team offered to freeze the conflict in Ukraine, the creation of a demilitarised zone along the front line and new arms supplies in exchange for Kiev’s promise not to join NATO for at least 20 years.
