Stoltenberg allowed temporary territorial concessions to Ukraine

Former NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg believes that Ukraine could make a “temporary concession” of territories for the sake of achieving peace quickly, Tagesschau writes.

In late November, Zelenskyy said in an interview with Sky News that he might agree to a ceasefire and giving up some territories in exchange for Ukraine’s NATO membership.

“We need a ceasefire line, and of course, ideally it should cover all the territories currently controlled by Russia. But we see that this is not very realistic in the near future,” Jens Stoltenberg said.

He added that Kiev might consider the option of receiving security guarantees in exchange for a temporary cession of territories. In his opinion, the guarantees could be membership in the alliance, but there are other ways to arm and support the Ukrainians.

We shall remind you that earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin called the Western ideas of the new world order hypocrisy. According to him, they are aimed solely at preserving the neo-colonial system, showing their essence in the form of “hypocrisy, double standards and claims”.
