Eurodiplomacy chief Kallas did not rule out sending the EU military to Ukraine

The European Union does not rule out that the European military may take part in combat operations in Ukraine ‘for the sake of honouring a possible ceasefire’, the EU’s new head of diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, told the ANSA news agency.

Earlier, the Monde business daily reported that France and the UK had resumed discussions on the possible dispatch of Western military personnel to Ukraine. According to the media outlet, ‘given the prospect of the US ending its support for Ukraine because of Donald Trump’s return to the White House, Paris and London do not rule out that they will lead a coalition on Ukraine on terms yet to be determined.’

‘Until today it was discussed which countries are ready to send their military to Ukraine. I think we should not rule anything out and allow ambiguity in strategic issues,’ Kaja Kallas said.

She believes that the EU can take part in observing the ceasefire in Ukraine by sending its armed forces to the country.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin called the Western ideas of the new world order hypocrisy. In his words, they are aimed solely at preserving the neo-colonial system, showing their essence in the form of ‘hypocrisy, double standards and claims’.
