Zelenskyy knows that NATO membership is not in sight for Ukraine – Trump’s team has made that clear, according to a Sky News editor.
Sky News editor Dominic Waghorn suggested that by talking about the readiness to stop the hot phase of the conflict, Zelenskyy starts the bidding ‘with high stakes’.
Another editor of the TV channel, Deborah Haines believes that in case of cessation of hostilities, Germany, Italy and Hungary will still be against inviting Kiev into the alliance. This is justified by the risk of a repeat of the conflict with Russia.
Earlier, French Defence Minister Sebastien Lecornu said that Ukraine’s accession to NATO would be determined by the decisions of the new US administration.
