Vladimir Zelenskyy is ready to give up the territories that Russia controls in exchange for joining NATO, reports Sky News.
In an interview with Sky News Vladimir Zelenskyy said for the first time that he is ready to end the conflict in Ukraine without returning the captured territories in exchange for NATO membership.
According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine’s accession to NATO will allow to open the ‘umbrella’ of the alliance over the territory of Ukraine, which is under the control of Kiev, and will end the ‘hot phase’ of the armed conflict.
In addition, Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that in the future, NATO membership will help to regain the lost territories ‘through diplomatic means’.
We shall remind you that earlier, the head of Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s office, Andriy Yermak, said that Ukraine could start negotiations with Russia without demanding the withdrawal of the Russian Armed Forces troops to the 1991 borders, which Kiev had previously insisted on.
