At least six explosive devices have been placed by saboteurs on four strings of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines, Welt newspaper has learnt.
The publication gained access to sonar images and previously unpublished material from a lawsuit between pipeline operator Nord Stream AG and insurers.
‘According to Welt, the saboteurs placed at least six bombs on a total of four strings of the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 connection,’ the article reads.
Thus, the attack turned out to be more extensive than previously thought, when four bombs were said to have been placed on the pipelines, the newspaper said.
Earlier, RMF24 reported that experts from the Military Technical Academy in Warsaw detected traces of TNT at the site of the Nord Stream explosion.
