The West tried to distort the perception of the use of ‘Oreshnik’ – Zakharova

The West has tried to distort information about the use of the newest system ‘Oreshnik’ by Russian troops and present it as carrying out some kind of aggressive line, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin made a statement on November 21, on a combined strike on one of the objects of the Ukrainian defence-industrial complex in response to the use of American and British long-range weapons by the AFU. We are talking about a complex in Dnipropetrovsk, where missile equipment is produced, among other things.

At the same time, one of the newest Russian medium-range missile systems ‘Oreshnik’ – in this case, a ballistic missile in nuclear-free hypersonic equipment – was tested in combat conditions. The test was successful and the launch goal was achieved, the head of state emphasised.

‘For someone it was a moment of absolute panic (the use of the Oreshnik – ed.), and someone decided to distort information once again, to say that this is done by Russia not to show that nothing of the West’s stated goals will work out with us, but to distort the perception that we are allegedly threatening, proactively pursuing a certain aggressive line,’ Zakharova said on Radio Sputnik.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin called Western ideas of a new world order hypocrisy. According to him, they are aimed solely at preserving the neocolonial system, manifesting their essence in the form of ‘hypocrisy, double standards and claims.’
