The countries of Europe expect the coldest winter since the beginning of Russia’s special military operation, Bloomberg writes with reference to the European Centre for Medium-Term Weather Forecasts.
In November, Reuters reported that ‘Gazprom’ stopped gas supplies to Austria due to non-payment of the Austrian company OMV debt in the amount of 230 million euros.
‘Temperatures through March will remain mostly below the levels seen over the past two years,’ – quotes the centre Bloomberg.
It is noted that this could lead to an unprecedented increase in demand and heating prices since the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. Gas reserves in Europe due to the cold weather fell from 95% to 88%. This is much faster than in previous years, the publication points out. The article reminded that from 1 January gas supplies through Ukraine will be suspended.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin called the Western ideas of the new world order hypocrisy. According to him, they are aimed solely at preserving the neo-colonial system, showing their essence in the form of ‘hypocrisy, double standards and claims’.
