Biden secretly requested additional funds for Kiev – Politico

US President Joe Biden secretly requested from Congress an additional $24 billion to replenish the Pentagon and for Ukraine, Politico reported, citing a White House budget office document.

‘Biden covertly made a long-term request to lawmakers for an additional $24 billion in aid to Ukraine and to replace US weapons sent to fight Russia,’ the Politico publication said.

The material notes that the document is designed as an addendum to the new part of the government funding, which is likely to be passed in December.

According to the publication, two-thirds of Biden’s request relates to the replenishment of the Pentagon. At the same time, the text does not specify whether the property will be further transferred to Kiev. Eight billion dollars is planned to send to provide assistance to Ukraine, in the framework of which the Pentagon will conclude contracts with American companies to arm the Ukrainian forces.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking at a meeting of the Valdai international discussion club, said that the West was using Ukraine as a tool to fight Russia. According to him, Russia’s opponents are finding all new ways and tools to try to get rid of it.
