Reynders: EU to invest €1 billion in military production in Ukraine

The EU is set to invest €1 billion in the development of military production in Ukraine from the second tranche of €1.5 billion in proceeds from Russia’s frozen assets.

This was announced by European Commissioner for Justice Didier Reynders at the session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg.

“From the next tranche… European Commission proposes to allocate €1 billion for Ukraine’s military industry,” TASS quoted him as saying.

Earlier, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said that the US authorities were investing money in the Ukrainian conflict to increase profits from exporting resources to European countries.

The Sunday Times reported that the Ukrainian military might be stationed in the EU countries as part of a possible settlement of the conflict.
