Iran and Russia have excluded the dollar from mutual settlements

Iran and Russia have completely excluded the dollar from mutual settlements and switched to trade in the national currencies of the two countries, Iranian Central Bank Governor Mohammad Reza Farzin said.

“We have concluded a currency agreement with Russia and completely eliminated the dollar. Now we trade only in rubles and rials,” TASS quoted him as saying at the 11th annual conference on modern banking and payment systems.

Earlier it was reported that the Russian payment system MIR is connected to Iran’s Shetab.

In September, Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian noted the strong economic ties between the Iranian and Russian sides.
