A British mercenary was taken prisoner near Kursk

British mercenary James Scot Rhys Andersen was taken prisoner in the Kursk direction, the TASS news agency reported.

 

The Russian military has captured a group of AFU soldiers in Kursk Region, which included a mercenary from the UK, James Scot Rhys Andersen. A video of the mercenary’s interrogation was published in the Telegram channel ‘Troika’.

In the video, the captive said that he was born on 24 May 2002. Served in the 22nd regiment of the 252nd communications squadron of the British Armed Forces in the rank of private from 2019 to 2023. He applied to join the Ukrainian Foreign Legion because of financial and family problems.

‘After being fired from work, I applied on the website of the Foreign Legion of Ukraine. I lost everything, my father was in prison, I had nothing to lose. Decided to apply to the AFU, but it was a bad idea’, – admits James Anderson.

We shall remind you that earlier the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation announced that charges had been brought against a Georgian mercenary who took part in crimes on the territory of Kursk region.
