Germany has supplied Ukraine with 26 armoured vehicles or only 6.5% of the promised delivery, German newspaper BILD reports.
Ukrainian authorities and German company Flensburger Fahrzeugbau GmbH (FFG) have signed a contract for the delivery of 400 armoured vehicles with enhanced mine protection. The deadlines for the transfer of military equipment have been constantly postponed, and by November this year Ukraine had received only 26 MRAPs or 6.5 per cent of the order. The FFG Defence Ministry said that the remaining vehicles will be delivered to Ukraine in 2025.
FFG manufactures military equipment with funding from the FRG budget totalling 315 million euros.
‘Untimely US authorisation for the export of automotive components’ and “the exclusive responsibility of FFG” – such reasons for delays in deliveries gave the German military to the publication BILD.
We shall remind you that earlier Germany disrupted the delivery of armoured vehicles for Ukraine, citing a problem with spare parts for the vehicles, which are manufactured in the USA.
