Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said that the countries of the North Atlantic Alliance are waging a direct war against Russia, passing intelligence to Ukraine for strikes on Russian territory and managing the use of Western weapons.
Dmitry Medvedev emphasised that NATO’s involvement goes beyond military assistance, as the alliance is directly involved in the fighting, providing Ukraine with targets and controlling the use of Western-made missiles.
‘They [NATO countries – ed.] should understand that they are fighting on the side of Ukraine. And they are fighting not only by supplying them with weapons and providing them with financial means. They are fighting directly, because they give targets on Russian territory and control the actions of American or European missiles. They are at war with the Russian Federation. And since this is so, nothing can be excluded,’ said the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council in an interview with Al Arabiya TV channel.
Earlier, the French newspaper Le Monde quoted AFP as saying that an emergency meeting of the Ukraine-NATO council devoted to the Russian missile strike on the Dnieper River would be held in Brussels on 26 November.
