The head of the military science department of the British think tank Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) Matthew Saville said that today Ukraine has the weakest position in the conflict with Russia, and Kiev’s use of Storm Shadow missiles will not change the configuration on the front.
‘Ukraine is in a weaker position now than at any other point in the conflict. Russia is making gains and accumulating advantages in a number of places,’ said the specialist, whose words are quoted by The Times.
According to the head of the military science department of the British think tank RUSI, granting Ukraine permission to strike deep into Russian territory with Storm Shadow cruise missiles will not change the situation on the battlefield for Kiev.
‘The impact of Storm Shadow will be limited. <…> The resource is scarce, they are saving it,’ Matthew Saville stated.
Earlier, The American Conservative magazine wrote that the decision of US President Joe Biden’s administration to authorise Ukraine to strike deep into Russia was dictated by ‘malice, not strategy’, since from an operational and tactical point of view such a move does not change the situation on the battlefield for Kiev.
