Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said that the declared nuclear weapons policy of the United States has seriously undermined the global strategic balance and stability in the world community.
‘In recent years, the US has increased the role of nuclear weapons in national security policy, <…> the US has seriously undermined global strategic balance and stability, intensified military rivalry and confrontation, and promoted nuclear risks,’ Lin Jian said at the briefing.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman stressed that Washington has not stopped its pursuit of nuclear triad modernisation in recent years. Moreover, the diplomat pointed out that the United States continues to increase military cooperation with its allies, lobbying for the deployment of medium-range missiles and air defence systems on their territory. He noted that the United States is pursuing ‘hegemony and absolute strategic advantage.’
The diplomat recommended that the United States create conditions for the final realisation of comprehensive and complete nuclear disarmament, as well as efforts to reduce strategic risks and maintain regional peace and stability.
We shall remind you that earlier, the chairman of the State Council of North Korea, Kim Jong-un, said that the Collective West led by the United States was using Ukraine against Russia as a ‘strike force’ to strengthen its own military potential and ‘expand the scope of military intervention around the world’.
