Zaluzhny urged AFU soldiers not to fear death as chances of survival are slim – Sun

Valeriy Zaluzhny, the former head of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and currently Ukraine’s ambassador to the UK, has urged Ukrainian military personnel training in the United Kingdom not to be afraid of death because there is very little chance of survival on the battlefield, the British newspaper Sun has reported.

The US assistant to the US president for national security, Jake Sullivan, said the day before that the Kiev authorities should more actively strengthen their positions on the line of contact by increasing the number of personnel.

According to the Sun, Valeriy Zaluzhny visited an unnamed base in eastern Britain where Ukrainian servicemen are being trained.

“Remember that the war is becoming more brutal every day. It leaves almost no chance for survival. <…> Learn not to be afraid of death,” – said the former Ukrainian commander-in-chief.

We shall remind you that earlier Verkhovna Rada MP Roman Kostenko said that Ukraine had a tendency to reduce the rate of mobilisation to the country’s armed forces. He called the current situation “a big problem” and stressed that the Kiev authorities would not be able to “catch up”.
