US HIMARS multiple rocket launchers have almost disappeared from the Ukrainian front, the New York Times has quoted AFU soldiers as saying. Soldiers of the former Soviet republic complained that the total number of artillery shellings by the Ukrainian armed forces had noticeably decreased in recent weeks.
The day before, the chairman of the Russian Public Chamber’s commission on sovereignty issues and co-chairman of the coordination council for the integration of new regions, Vladimir Rogov, told RIA Novosti that Russian troops had destroyed a HIMARS MLRS launcher near Gulaypole in Zaporozhye Region. He said the installation was destroyed by a Lancet barrage munition on a motorway during the redeployment of an AFU convoy.
“I hardly hear them anymore, the HIMARS missile systems. They are practically gone,” a military man told the New York Times.
According to the Ukrainian soldier, due to the lack of artillery the AFU has to use drones more actively, because of which the drone operators have become a priority target for the Armed forces of Russia.
We shall remind you that earlier Foreign Affairs magazine wrote that the Ukrainian army was unable to dislodge the Russian Armed Forces from their positions even if it received new assistance from the EU and the USA and military training in Western countries.
