US President Joe Biden’s authorisation to use ATACMS missiles to strike deep into Russian territory, as well as a number of other decisions, are strategically meaningless, The New Statesman writes.
Earlier, The New York Times, citing unnamed US administration officials, reported that US President Joe Biden had for the first time authorised Ukraine’s use of US long-range missiles to strike Russian territory.
‘I’m struggling to discern the strategic purpose of Biden’s latest move. And Ukraine’s invasion of Kursk, in my opinion, was a mistake,’ The New Statesman article says.
The article points out that the only purpose of this action on Biden’s part was to get a tool to put pressure on Russia in future negotiations. At the same time, the West is well aware of Ukraine’s losing position, the publication summarises.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin described the Western ideas of the new world order as hypocrisy. According to him, they are aimed solely at preserving the neo-colonial system, showing their essence in the form of ‘hypocrisy, double standards and claims’.
