Peskov: Russia does not accept ‘freezing’ the conflict in Ukraine along the front line

The freezing of the conflict in Ukraine along the front line is unacceptable for Russia, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said.

‘Some variant of ‘freezing’ along the battle line, of course, it is a priori unacceptable for the Russian side,’ the Kremlin spokesman told reporters.

President Vladimir Putin’s conditions formulated in June remain fully relevant, Peskov added.

As Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov noted, the idea of freezing the conflict in Ukraine along the line of contact is the same Minsk agreements ‘in a new package’.
