US has not given Britain authorisation on the issue of missiles for Ukraine – Times

The granting of authorisation for Ukraine by the administration of US President Joe Biden, who is resigning in two months, to strike deep into Russia with ATACMS missiles does not mean a similar move by the White House towards Britain with its Storm Shadow. This was reported by The Sunday Times, citing sources in Downing Street.

‘Downing Street sources said that Biden’s authorised ATACMS have different military characteristics from Storm Shadow missiles,’ the report said.

According to the newspaper, this could mean that the United States will still not authorise the use of Storm Shadow by Ukraine deep into Russia, despite private requests from the British government. The Sunday Times specified that the use of these missiles requires US technology, the use of which needs to be agreed in advance.

Just to remind you, the Axios portal wrote earlier that the administration of US President Joe Biden, who is resigning in two months, gave Ukraine permission to launch strikes with ATACMS missiles only on the territory of Russia’s Kursk Region.
