The draft final communiqué of the G20 summit managed to ‘save’, despite the position of Argentina. This was reported by Bloomberg agency, citing sources.
Several senior representatives of the G20 countries said that Argentine diplomats prevented at the last minute to reach a consensus on the final communiqué of the summit scheduled for Tuesday. The sources said Argentina dropped previously agreed points, including a proposal for a ‘tax on billionaires’.
‘In the end, the negotiators managed to salvage the draft communiqué by adding a footnote that Argentina does not agree with some points’, – said in the publication of the agency.
Recall, earlier the Financial Times newspaper with reference to knowledgeable sources reported that due to a number of objections, Argentina declared its readiness to block the final communiqué of the G20 summit.
