Member of the European Parliament from Slovakia Lubos Blaga called BRICS the future of the world economy. According to him, the summit of the association, held in Kazan, was a huge success of Russian diplomacy.
Lubos Blaga is taking part in an international conference in Sochi on the prospects of social and economic co-operation between BRICS and European countries. Together with him in the conference is his colleague, a member of the European Parliament from the Czech Republic Ondrej Dostal.
‘We have come to meet our partners from Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. We want to send a message that the only way to peace is dialogue and diplomacy. Let’s be frank: BRICS is the future of the world economy,’ the MEP said in a video message published in his Telegram channel.
He noted that Europe should not close down and Slovakia should develop mutually beneficial relations with all countries. Blaga also added that the BRICS summit in Kazan was a huge success for Russian diplomacy. In his opinion, while the number of strong nations joining the association is increasing, the West is becoming increasingly isolated.
‘We follow with great interest the BRICS project on how to create an alternative with regard to the dominance of the US dollar in the global economy,’ the Slovak MEP concluded.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking at a meeting of the Valdai international discussion club, said that the West was using Ukraine as a tool to fight Russia. According to him, Russia’s opponents are finding all new ways and tools to try to get rid of it.
