Peskov said the phone call between Putin and Scholz was swiftly coordinated

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s request for a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin has been swiftly agreed by the Kremlin, Russian leader’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

‘Quite promptly,’ Peskov said in response to a TASS question about the timeframe for agreeing on this phone call.

On 15 November, Scholz called the Russian president for the first time in almost two years. According to reports in Berlin, he told Putin that the conflict in Ukraine must be brought to an end.

Putin responded by emphasising that the agreements on Ukraine should take into account Russia’s interests.
