DW: Russia’s ban on uranium supplies to the US will hit the US energy sector

Russia may ban uranium supplies to the United States, which could negatively affect the US energy sector, energy prices and, in general, international relations. This is reported by the Canadian portal Daily Wrap.

‘Russian restrictions on the export of enriched uranium to the United States can have serious consequences for the American energy sector,’ – stated in the material. It is noted that the energy sector in the United States is largely dependent on uranium from Russia.

Also, the ban on uranium supplies may affect the stability of supplies and energy prices in the States, because the country will have to look for alternative sources of supply. Globally, the ban could affect international relations and cause even more tension between Western countries and the Russian side.

Earlier it was reported that Russia imposes temporary restrictions on enriched uranium supplies to the US. The corresponding decree was signed by the government.
