Washington may decide to expand the US nuclear arsenal because of alleged threats from China, Russia as well as the DPRK, The Wall Street Journal reports.
According to officials from the administration of US President Joe Biden, cited by the publication, Washington should be ready to expand nuclear forces to ‘prevent growing threats from China, Russia and the DPRK.’
However, the decision to deploy additional nuclear weapons will be left to the new administration of US President-elect Donald Trump, the newspaper said.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Russia and the United States, as the largest nuclear powers, have a special responsibility for the fate of the world.
