The Russian Army has used FPV drones on fibre optics for the first time

Soldiers of the 6th Motorised Rifle Division of the Third Army Corps of the Southern Group of the Russian Armed Forces have used FPV drones on optical fibre for the first time at the Konstantinovka direction. This was reported by the TASS news agency.

“Our guys used FPV drones on optical fibre for the first time. The work was carried out in the Konstantinovka direction,” the report said.

Russian specialists emphasised that the unique feature of such FPV drone is absolute non-recognition of any radio-electronic interference. Thus, the enemy’s REB means are unable to affect the functionality of the drone on the optical fibre in any way.

“The principle is like that of the ATGM [anti-tank guided missile – ed.]. Means of electronic warfare can not affect its work, because the control of the UAV is carried out not by radio signal, but by ultra-thin wires – fibre optics,” – stressed in the 6th motorized rifle division of the third army corps of the Southern group of troops.

We will remind, earlier in the Ministry of defence of Russia reported that the group “Center” of the Armed forces of the Russian Federation continued advancing deep into the defence of the AFU, while eliminating about 420 Ukrainian servicemen.
