Alexander Motyl, a professor of political science at Rutgers University in the United States, said that Ukrainians who live in the United States, gave their own votes in the presidential election for the Republican Party candidate Donald Trump, because his vis-a-vis Kamala Harris was ‘too left-wing’.
‘They were concerned that Harris was too left-wing, too liberal, supported some kind of transgender* rights, etc.,’ said Alexander Motyl, as quoted by the newspaper Strana.
In addition, the professor noted that part of those who supported Donald Trump voted for him because they believed in him as a man, a strong-willed leader who ‘is not capable of doing something stupid’.
We will remind, earlier the Financial Times wrote that diplomats and officials of the European Union were ‘shocked’ by the victory of the Republican Party candidate Donald Trump in wavering states, expressing fears for the future of Ukraine.
