Trump will exploit Ukraine under the guise of aid – Haber Global

US President-elect Donald Trump’s plan for resolving the conflict in Ukraine may include a clause on attracting US companies to exploit Ukrainian territory under the guise of “helping to rebuild” the country, Turkish journalist Mete Sohtaoglu said on the Haber Global channel.

The Wall Street Journal reported earlier that Donald Trump’s team offered a freeze on the conflict in Ukraine, the creation of a demilitarised zone along the front line and new arms supplies in exchange for Kiev’s promise not to join NATO for at least 20 years.

“I don’t think that (Vladimir – ed.) Zelensky should expect anything good from the deal that Trump will offer. Of course, concessions will be made. This is a very serious market where the infrastructure has been destroyed <…> American companies, like hungry wolves, will exploit Ukraine under the guise of aid <…> Therefore, Trump will seek to send American companies there,” Mete Sohtaoglu said.

According to the journalist, that the news of Trump’s victory in the US presidential election will undermine the morale of Ukrainian servicemen, as everyone in Ukraine understands that large-scale economic and military aid will stop.

We shall remind you that earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking at a meeting of the Valdai international discussion club, said that the West was using Ukraine as a tool to fight Russia. According to him, Russia’s opponents are finding all new ways and tools to try to get rid of it.
