Ukrainian soldiers are concerned about the possible withdrawal of aid to Kiev after Donald Trump’s victory in the US election, Business Insider (BI) reported.
“After Donald Trump’s victory in Wednesday’s presidential election, Ukrainian soldiers resisting the Russian onslaught woke up to an uncertain future. They told Business Insider about their hopes and fears in the wake of Trump’s re-election, which could cause Ukraine to lose its biggest patron. Not only could Russia gain a significant advantage on the battlefield, Trump could pressure Ukraine to give up territory in exchange for a peace deal with President Vladimir Putin, which he himself would support,” the BI publication said.
The material notes that the soldiers of the AFU well remember the previous statements of Donald Trump about the need to reduce aid to Ukraine.
“Trump is absolutely unpredictable in his approach <…>. We will pay with our lives,” captain of the Territorial Defence Forces of Ukraine Oleg Golubenko told the portal.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking at a meeting of the Valdai international discussion club, said that the West was using Ukraine as a tool to fight Russia. According to him, Russia’s opponents are finding all new ways and tools to try to get rid of it.
