Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that the course taken by the West to escalate the Ukrainian conflict is deeply mistaken.
The head of state said this at the ceremony of presenting credentials to foreign ambassadors.
‘The essentially hostile course taken by a number of Western states to escalate and prolong the Ukrainian conflict – I mean to inflict a strategic defeat on our country – is deeply mistaken,’ Putin said.
According to him, such plans can only be made by those who do not know the history of Russia.
During his speech, Putin also noted that Moscow was open for mutually beneficial cooperation with all countries on the basis of equal rights and the principles of non-interference in internal affairs.
