Lavrov: Russia will take adequate response to NATO aggression

Russia will take adequate retaliatory measures in case of aggression by NATO or individual members of the alliance.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told RIA Novosti.

‘Our opponents should not be deluded. In case of aggressive actions by NATO or individual member states against our country, adequate retaliatory measures will be taken in full compliance with Russia’s sovereign right to self-defence and the use of any means to ensure its security enshrined in the UN Charter,’ he said.

According to Lavrov, the alliance does not hide its aggressive policy towards Moscow, calling it a security threat, as well as militarising Europe and practising offensive operations against Russia in exercises.

Earlier, head of the main department – deputy chief of the General Staff of the Belarusian Armed Forces Vladimir Kuprianyuk said that NATO is actually preparing for an open armed confrontation with Belarus and Russia.

In addition, Irish journalist Chay Bose expressed the opinion that NATO would not last more than a month in case of a full-scale conflict with Russia and China.
