Lavrov: Russia and the US have a special responsibility for the fate of the world

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia and the US as the largest nuclear powers have a special responsibility.

‘We remember that our two countries as the largest nuclear powers have a special responsibility for the fate of the world. This predetermines the need for diplomatic contacts and the functioning of embassies in Moscow and Washington,’ he said in a conversation with RIA Novosti.

Earlier, Lavrov said that the collective West, led by Washington, has redoubled efforts to systematically contain Russia.

Meanwhile, political scientist Vladimir Shapovalov, a board member of the Russian Association of Political Science, told RT that the United States is losing its global hegemony.
