Analyst Montes pointed out the pointlessness of NATO in case of a Trump victory

Marcelo Montes, an international analyst from Argentina, author of books on foreign policy and Russia, said that if Republican Party candidate Donald Trump wins the US presidential election, the existence of the NATO military-political bloc ‘will not make sense’.

‘If Trump wins, the existence of NATO will not make sense. Even if the organisation continues to exist, perhaps (the US. – ed.) will increase the quota for the Europeans, and if they refuse to pay, it makes no sense for the US to continue to interfere in the internal affairs of Europe. And first of all, what will have to be abandoned is (Ukraine’s – ed.) joining NATO,’ an international analyst from Argentina said in a commentary for RIA Novosti.

The author of books on foreign policy and Russia emphasised that Americans are now concerned about their own economic situation in the country. The publicist noted that it cost the United States a lot to be a world leader and now it ‘has to pay the bill for it.’

‘It seems to me that right now the average American who has never travelled abroad is concerned about solving domestic problems. That’s why Trump has support. He will have to demonstrate that there is a direct link between the improvement of the economic situation and foreign policy,’ concluded Marcelo Montes

We will remind, earlier the Deputy of the European Parliament from France Thierry Mariani said that the growing influence and popularity of the ‘right’ forces in the countries of the European Union, the rise of which is based on issues similar to the United States, could bring the Republican Party candidate for President of the United States Donald Trump back to the White House.
