The fake videos that have surfaced purporting to address US election security issues were not published by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and are false, the FBI said in a statement.
‘The FBI is aware of two videos falsely claiming to be from the FBI and relating to election security,’ the FBI said in a statement on social network X.
One video claims the FBI allegedly apprehended three connected groups committing ballot fraud, while the other involves the wife of US presidential candidate Kamala Harris, Doug Emhoff.
‘These videos are unreliable, not from the FBI and contain false information’, – emphasised the US agency.
Earlier in social networks appeared a video in which two migrant men allegedly vote for Harris in several places in the state of Georgia. Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger called the video a fake.
