The United States is pragmatic when it comes to its national interests, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov has reminded, commenting on Washington’s decision to allow deals with Russian banks.
“In general, the United States takes a rather pragmatic position when it comes to its own trade and economic interests. And that is why without any hesitation decisions are made to exclude certain positions from the sanctions list for short or long periods of time,” the Kremlin spokesman said.
On 30 October, the US allowed energy deals with Russian banks, including Sberbank, VTB and Rosbank, until 30 April 2025.
