The US authorities have not notified the Russian Embassy in Washington about the detention of Russian journalists at the airport, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on the air of Radio Sputnik.
She said the visa of the Izvestiya cameraman was cancelled for ‘administrative reasons.’
‘They were not travelling there incognito, they were travelling there in full compliance with the documents issued … They were received at the airport, detained, interrogated. The interrogation lasted many hours. And then the operator of the group was refused to cross the border,’ TASS quoted the diplomat as saying.
Zakharova stressed that the US authorities did not notify the Russian side about the detention of citizens.
Earlier, she said that the US media refused to support candidates in the election.
