EC: Ukraine and Moldova could start substantive negotiations on EU membership in 2025

Ukraine and Moldova could start substantive negotiations on EU membership in 2025 if they can fulfil all preconditions.

This is stated in the European Commission’s enlargement report assessing the progress of the candidate countries.

‘Provided Ukraine fulfils all conditions, the European Commission expects the start of negotiations … in 2025,’ the document states.

Earlier, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said in a conversation with pranksters Vovan and Lexus that Ukraine’s accession to the EU would be delayed, including because of the high competitiveness of Ukrainian agriculture.
